SMF aims its services at the needs of the surrounding community of Annanagar and its environs.

SMF is a non-profit trust whose capital needs are met by donations from the well known and highly respected Sundaram Finance group of companies.
The hospital is not burdened by any debt or repayment obligations and can hence provide its services at significantly lower costs.

In our fifteenth year of service to the community, we have begun a series of expansions and enhancements that will advance the vision of our founder. They will be in place by the end of 2009.
- A 24-bed, independent, full-facility centre for obstetric and gynaecological services.
- A blood bank with facilities to offer blood component therapy.
- Completely redesigned and refurbished ICU.
- 2 new operating theatres with all necessary technology for modern surgery.
- Expansion of outpatient service facilities.
