SMF - Phase III Expansion

Ambitious expansion project to start soon

On September 4, 2004, SMF completed its first decade of service to the community. The period has been one of unflagging growth and demand for our services. For the last several months, occupancy at the hospital has been 100%. With the continuing support of donations to the Trust from the parent companies of the Sundaram Finance Group, a large parcel of land has been acquired close to the present main hospital. Construction will commence soon on Phase III of our expansion. The planned additions include

• A 150 bed hospital block that will include a Mother & Children's Centre and a Specialty Centre

• A CME centre with a 300 seat auditorium

• A hostel for nurses, registrars, PG residents and CRRI's

• A state-of-the-art kitchen

• An automated laundry

We expect to be fully in place by the second half of 2006.
