The Department of ENT Surgery (Oto-rhino-laryngology) is staffed by four consultants and has a postgraduate training programme in ENT approved by the National Board of Examinations,New Delhi.

Facilities available

Out-patient: Our out-patient clinics are equipped with the most sophisticated diagnostic aids that are available anywhere in the world today. OP clinics are open on 6 days in a week. Emergency patients are seen round the clock in the ER.

OP Procedures: Many procedures like Ear Syringing, Examination under Microscope, Diagnostic Nasal Endoscopy, Video Laryngoscopy, Epley’s procedure, Ear Lobe Repair,Ear and Nose Foreign Body Removal, Fibre Optic Laryngoscopy etc are done in the OP itself to save time and cost for the patient.

Surgery

Basic: All basic ENT surgeries like tonsillectomy, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, mastoidectomy, stapedectomy, tracheostomy are done.

Advanced Advanced endoscopic surgeries like optic nerve decompression, orbital decompression, CSF rhinorrhea repair, Pituitary surgery, endoscopic DCR are done. Laser surgery is done for tonsil, laryngeal/ bronchial lesions, sleep apnoea etc.

• Staffed by 4 experienced audiologist & speech therapists.
• Audiology services are offered in a sound treated setup.

The Department is approved by the National Board of Examinations,New Delhi(Under ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India) for postgraduate training in ENT surgery (DNB – ENT). 6 candidates have successfully completed their training and have been awarded the post graduate degree.

The Department conducts regular CME programs for doctors as well as the general public.

The Department publishes papers regularly in international and national journals.

The Department participates in all national and regional conferences.

Community Service

The Department regularly conducts free screening camps in schools etc in coordination with voluntary organizations like Lions club etc.

The Department runs a free rural clinic in Arakkambakkam village where patients are examined by ENT specialist and if necessary patients are referred for surgery.
