The Department of Orthopedics is a round the clock service that provides all aspects of modern orthopedic care. All trauma cases are accepted 24 hours a day, backed by continuous, in-house coverage by qualified registrars and consultants.About 7000 out-patients and 700 in-patients are handled each year. The department performs more than 600 operations a year, covering all aspects of modern orthopedic surgery.

Facilities available

Trauma care: Patients with fractures and other orthopedic injuries are handled in the Emergency Department. A 24-hour fracture service ensures that all patients are managed in the shortest possible time frames. All back up services are available round-the-clock.

Arthroscopy: The department is equipped with a full range of endoscopic devices. Diagnosis can be made with accuracy and minimally invasive procedures can be performed on the joints.

Hip and knee replacement: The pain, loss of mobility and decrease in the quality of life that follows chronic joint diseases can be alleviated to great degrees by replacement of major joints like the hip and knee. The department has a large body of experience in this area

Complex spinal surgery: The deparment offers a special clinic for the treatment of patients with complex spinal problems.
